Objetivos Prioritarios

  • Profundizar en la conducción autónoma cooperativa.
  • Desarrollar y probar sistemas ADAS, enfocando la investigación hacia los sistemas de control de velocidad y sistemas de reconocimiento del exterior.
  • Desarrollar soluciones de asistencia al conductor basadas en la automatización de los mandos de los vehículos.
  • Introducir tecnologías de comunicación en los sistemas anteriores con el fin de ampliar la información al conductor y el “horizonte electrónico” a partir de posicionamiento del vehículo en mapas electrónicos.
  • Desarrollar nuevas arquitecturas de automatización de alto y bajo nivel para aplicaciones y servicios diversos.
  • Desplegar servicios cooperativos en escenarios reales.
  • Analizar la adecuación de los interfaces con el usuario de estos sistemas.

Catedrático de Universidad,  Subdirector de Investigación y Director de la Unidad de Sistemas Inteligentes, ha dirigido y participado en multitud de proyectos en el ámbito de los sistemas inteligentes de transporte, los sistemas de asistencia al conductor y la conducción autónoma, conectada y cooperativa.

José Eugenio Naranjo. Investigador

José E. Naranjo was born in Orense, Spain in 1975. He received the B. E. and M. E. degree in Computer Science engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Spain, in 1998 and 2001 respectively. He was awarded a Ph. D. in Computer Science at UPM in 2005. From 1999 to 2007 he was a member of the Autopia Group of CSIC. In 2007, he obtained a position as associate professor in the School of Computer Science of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). His research interests include artificial intelligence, V2X communications, C-ITS, usability and accessibility and CCAD. In addition, Prof. Naranjo is a member of several scientific and editorial committees, including his role as associate editor of IEEE Transactions on ITS, belonging to the organizing committees of the major conferences in the sector, such as the IEEE Intelligent Vehicle Symposium and the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Conference, while also being a member of IEEE ITS Society, serving as Vice President of the Spanish Chapter.
